SUA Life

SUA Life is the biggest section by far: 153 stories, from a 2013 farewell to the admissions director to the last issue in May 2023. It is the school seen from inside the building. Teachers get profiles, clubs get spotlights, and the campus itself gets attention, from the White building that came down in 2016 to the East Quad that replaced it. The 2016 to 2017 school year alone produced 34 SUA Life stories, as construction, a new schedule and a theater renovation kept the staff busy.

A few pieces are worth reading even if you never set foot on McMillan Street. My Grades Are Not My Identity is one of the paper's best columns. Now and Then follows six former editors of The Light into college and work. The pandemic years are here too, including the arrival of Angelo, the school's therapy dog, in September 2020, and the COVID schedule the school built that fall. Stories about individual students were left out of this archive on purpose; the About page explains why.
