School year 2013-14

The 2013 to 2014 volume is the first full school year in the archive, 17 stories, and the paper is still finding its sections. World leads with five pieces, among them a quiz on Cincinnati's east side and west side and a history of the 1920s subway tunnels under the city that never carried a train.

Winter brought the Sochi Olympics and three sports stories, including a profile of freeskier Sarah Burke. In March the staff covered the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 ten days after it happened; a note at the end says what came of the search. Smaller pieces fill in school life: the Kairos retreat, the senior Capstone class, the case for taking Latin, a Jesuit college fair. Read the year as a snapshot of a student paper building its habits, with short stories, quick turnaround and topics chosen by whoever had an idea that week.
